Hello!

Max Greenspan

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker currently serving adults, children, adolescents and families in Pennsylvania.

I have more than 10 years of experience providing therapeutic services to individuals and families across the lifespan. While I consider a person-centered approach to be central to my practice, one of my specializations is in cognitive behavioral therapy. I have deep experience working with adults, adolescents and children with mood and anxiety challenges utilizing cognitive behavioral techniques, in addition to supporting those who have experienced trauma or other adverse life events. I also work closely with parents concerned with their child’s challenging feelings or behaviors. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and trained in both Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI) and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

What draws me to this work is the immense honor of working collaboratively with a client to build a space of trust, to hold and respond to painful feelings, and to walk a path together toward healing and fulfillment. Life is hard and seemingly getting harder all the time, whether it be the weight that we continue to carry from our past experiences or feeling overwhelmed by the competing demands and pressures of both the present moment and the future. Frankly, sometimes it feels like trying to put up a tent in a tornado. Therapy can be a means of calming the storm, finding more effective ways of pulling together the tent poles, or simply having someone at your side, if only to say, “You weren’t kidding! It is really windy right now!” Sometimes the best therapy experiences feel like all of these woven together.

I’d be honored to hear your story and to help you find your way through the storm.
